Cooley advised the Boston Celtics and the Grousbeck family the majority stakeholders of Boston Basketball Partners, which owns the American professional basketball team – in connection with their agreement to sell the Celtics to an investor group led by William Chisholm. If approved, the new ownership group will buy a majority of the team in the summer of 2025 at an initial valuation of $6.1 billion.
